Possibly, it is one of the cheaper(est) blu-ray players out for now. But most people are buying it for gaming :p

Nah, I don't have a PS3 but I just got a wii 3 weeks ago. It's pretty sweet.

I heard that PS3s were still pretty buggy.

There are a lot of false rumors about the ps3. Like the "buggy" part. I haven't encountered one bug yet. Also people say they get overheated. I have left mine on for 2 days straight (to download demos), and it only blew out warm air the whole time. Some people leave their PS3's on all the time because of a program called Folding@home (helping cure cancer...research it). The graphics are very good, I don't have a Xbox 360, so I can't really compare to it. Overall I am very happy with the purchase and wouldn't go for anything else. Of course, launch games aren't always the best to compare consoles, so to judge the ps3 right now would be unfair. But seeing future games like Killzone 2 and Metal Gear Solid 4, it has a lot of potential.

Also, the other media functions are great. Other then playing games, you can also put pictures, videos, and music on your PS3. IF you download movies (not saying I do :p) you can put them on your ps3 and watch them on your TV.
