Is anyone running phpbb3.0 on a forum ?

I started off using phpbb2 about 5 years ago, and now I see they released a phpbb3.0 gold a while back.

I'm thinking about starting up a forum just to play with it.. Jumping to vB from phpbb was such a jump.. I use to actually edit the source code when ever we had to add a hack. Now it's just a simple upload of an xml file and maybe a few image files..lol

If anyone is using it, please post your phpbb3.0 forum so we can check it out.

cheers
-Brandon

Hasn't the easy mod hack been upgraded for phpbb3? If it has then all you have to do is ftp the hack files and it will install most of the hacks.

I don't know.. I think it was around back in the 2.0 days, but I always added hacks manually.

I'm running phpBB3 as my site's main forum right now. It's a little harder to navigate the forum ACP than it was to navigate in a 2.0 forum's ACP. >_>

Re: Is anyone running phpbb3.0 on a forum ?

I know a few forums that use phpbb3 but it seems that more spammers/robot's join phpbb forums easily and spam away with adult related material...etc

I like VB cause it's easy to weed out the spam. I'm so used to VB forum's and editing them then phpbb ones. I post on both forum types but VB seem's to be improving a lot more each year.

To tell you the truth Brandon, i did run a forum on phpbb in which was threw a free hosting company in which i closed the forum down. To many robot spammers, to many folks using proxies, and lot's of adult material that went against the rules i created. I spent more time cleaning the forum then trying to keep it active with content. Perhaps, it was do to not having the right hack's installed. Plus that was the first forum i ever ran by myself and didn't know to much.

Since i just woke up and not fully awake on my birthday today, i'm going to make some coffee. lol
