| Are books becoming obsolete? In English class today we had a writing assignment written on the board. The topic? - are books becoming obsolete? Which made me to start thinking...and I decided, YEAH, I don't really read much, although I kind of wish I did. When I do read, it's usually on the internet.
So what do you think? Are books becoming obsolete? |

| As a matter of fact, I know quite well on this subject cause my grandparents are book dealers. When books that are quite old become work like 5 cents...they are definatly becoming obsolete! |

Anyways, I do read.
We have to in school, but I also read because I want to.
My favourite books are: Harry Potter Trilogy, LOTR Trilogy, Da Vinci Code, Digital Fortress and Angels & Demons
I recommend you all to read, because you get smarter and its also fun.
When you read something really exciting, you cant stop reading. |

Or an online dictionary. Quote: | 1 a : no longer in use or no longer useful <an obsolete word> b : of a kind or style no longer current : OLD-FASHIONED <an obsolete technology>

Books are sadly becoming obsolete, although i myself am an avid reader. It's all the goddamn TV and s*** that's being thrust into our generations minds. I've grown up without a TV, makes you appreciate a lot more things in life. Tbh in another generation or so, we'll be like the society in fahrenheit 451 >_>. Just my opinion

| In my opinion they are not becoming Obsolete, they are still getting bought, look at how much preorders you get for things like Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, or The Children Of Hurin, Alot. Everything old becomes cool, a vintage style. I dont think books will be in that vintage style for a while yet, but they are still being bought and until they are not being published I shall carry on reading them |

books are better than tv, just because they let your imagination decide things. |

| Re: Are books becoming obsolete? To be honest, I hate reading books. I always hate hearing my english teacher say "Ok guys, we are starting a new book today, it's due next week." I must have ADD for reading or something because I can't stand just lying in my bed for hours staring at a book in silence. I try turning on music and just keeping the music low but then I can't concentrate. Most of the time, I just feel like a) The author could have gotten the point across in half the pages that he used up, or b) I could have gotten more out of watching a movie and in a lot less time. When watching a movie I get to actually see what is going on and listen to audio.
Just my oppinion. |

| Re: Are books becoming obsolete? Well if you look at Harry Potter books, the books are way better than the movies. I therefore like to read books. |
