Buying a new laptop (and selling my current)
Throwing this out there for any computer guru's but I'm close to replacing my current laptop with an upgraded one. From some minor research this seemed to meet my needs without going overboard ($3k+)
Newegg.com - Gateway M685-E(400963-1) NoteBook Intel Core 2 Duo T7400(2.16GHz) 17.0" Wide UXGA 2GB DDR2 667 100GB 7200rpm Dual layer DVD Burner NVIDIA GeForce Go 7900GS - Retail
I'd be open to some other suggestions of something more powerful as long ass it can be justified. I was also considering a custom built Alienware or Dell, but all seemed to price out significantly higher for similar specs.
Any feedback would be appreciated. I'd also have my current laptop for sale if I purchased this one, which is actually a very nice lapper...
It's an Acer 5672 but slightly upgraded to the following specs:
* Intel Core Duo T2300 (1.66 GHz, 667 MHz FSB, 2MB L2 cache)
* 15.4" WXGA CrystalBrite LCD with 16ms refresh rate.
* ATI Mobility Radeon X1400 128MB (up to 512mb allocated from RAM)
* 100GB 5400 RPM SATA hard drive or 80GB 7200 RPM SATA
* Slot-Load DVD super multi drive
* 2GB DDR2 dual channel memory
* 802.11 a/b/g wireless with singalup high efficiency antenna
* Bluetooth 2.0+EDR
* ExpressCard slot
* Built in 1.3 Megapixel Webcam
* DVI, VGA, and S-Video outputs
More information on it ... Acer Aspire 5670 Series Review (pics, specs)
It also has a warranty remaining from CompUSA until March 2009 with 2 accidental screen replacements (currently 1 burnt out pixel) and 1 battery replacement remaining on the warranty.
Any feedback on choosing a new laptop would be appreciated.
