Did you have a launch team?

When you first started your forum, did you have a launch team in place? You know people that filled your forum up with threads and post. Or did you just launch and go from there?

Re: Did you have a launch team?

I have a "launch team" in place to start my forum off. It's basically the owners and moderators I have picked out but we plan on having at least 500 posts / topics or so to get started before going live.

Re: Did you have a launch team?

I had a total "launch team" in place before going live. They were all Moderators (I have a large team due to the nature of the board) and a few "geeks" to tweak things. We actually went public a week before our planned launch because we were able to test everything quickly. It gave us a chance to adjust the look and layout of the board.

I started with just myself @vBSetup.. But I like to think of the mods we have now as part of a team to help the forum grow and become great

Re: Did you have a launch team?

Not a launch team so to speak, but since a started a forum about my state, all my family and friends joined and got to posting. Then i used the good old "sig-link and post" method on a local news forum thats very busy to grab some of there members are we are doing GREAT IMO!

In the begining there was just me. As things progressed more people got involved. Nothing beats having a great staff team behind you to keep things moving foward.

Re: Did you have a launch team?

yep, not easy to start a forum, almost every single topic has at least a dozen forums, find a niche and then kick it out ain't simple, am midst a launch ... even getting people flow over isn't easy, become member even less .. took me 4 months before Google wanted to index the url, since 3 days it happened, time to go overdrive ;)
