| Re: do you use Digg ? to promote your site basically, you have an account on Digg ?
If you have then just click your social bookmark in the post and fill in the fields with digg, just write some text appealing.. it'll pop up in the never ending list of posts with digg, and if you're lucky some will start to click digg, popping it up the list again...
I had one post with 23 clicks and about 150 people flowed over to my forum, but none stayed. So don't hope to get members, but readers... |

| Re: do you use Digg ? to promote your site I posted from my bog one entry... with a little comment, nothing more, beware they don't label you spam.. after some I think they close your account. Choose a good subject that has potential of interest to many.
OK, after some deep thinking I've written some thing about Digg and if it can help your site... in clear words, get you traffic
comments, agree, disagree ...all is welcome over there.

I'll read over it, thanks for posting that.
I know the general idea behind using dig, I've been thinking of what to post about for a few week now.. Really ever since we added vbseo with the social icons, so more like a month or two I guess..
I've thought of a few things like
vbulletin help sites, and what is avalible to new admins.
I've thought about the vbulletin optimization tips and what can be achieved with 20 mins of tweaking.
I've also thought about the affect that I feel vbseo has done on this site, with our current ranking for strong keywords like "vbulletin" and "vbulletins styles" but I don't know if I want to post all that info, it's sorta like letting the cat out of the bag..lol
I want to post something interesting and directed towards vBulletin, or webmaster/admin sites.
/me is still thinking.... :xsleepy: |

| Re: do you use Digg ? to promote your site It isn't always easy to find something interesting
But instead opening the vbseo vault and make them unhappy (why would someone buy their product if all can be done...)
Maybe look over all the articles you have published already on optimising.. choose one and find a good friend to push that button for you (avoids last point in my article).
Do you have by any chance in your super vbseo stats the number of times someone pushed the social bookmark system ? I haven't that option and wonder with moments if they are useful for whatever except advertise for them.... |

Is it usually done like this..
I make a good size post in the announcements area ? or should I post it on the blog ? |

| Re: do you use Digg ? to promote your site Does it have any sense in the end ?? You make free publicity for them, but what do you get back ?
I tried a few times a submit but hardly got anything back. I'll take those out soon, useless. Again we come to basics... good content is what drives a site. |

| I was hoping to reverse engineer the code for my articles (not my forum). I just don't see a lot of forum posts getting a Digg.
I noticed that several of my articles had been "Dugg" manually of all things (which is a total surprise). I figure on my best articles, I could send out a newsletter giving away some contest to anyone who Diggs my article.
I'm sure there is some sort of rule against this, but it would be worth a shot.
