Hello! Plus the inevitable question...
Domain works without the 'www' but I want the 'www' in?

I know this isn't really the content of this forum but you guys are smart so I thought I'd ask anyway...

My bro has registered a url and all he want to do with the url is forward it to an affiliate site that is already created.

The site is ultimatesyndicate.co.uk and this url works. But when you put the www. in front of it, it doesn't work. He wants it to work WITH the www section.

Does anyone know how we can achieve this? Remember there's no hosting involved, we can only use the domain registrations page features (Domain name registration from 123-reg).

Thanks

EDIT:

Sorry, I worked it out. Something to do with CNAME, A and the ip address, etc. still don't 100% understand it but it works now lol.

Delete if you want.

,

The DNS for both names appears to be pointing to the same IP.

That's a good start, that's 1/2 the work.

All you need to do now is configure the web server to know that both with and without the www need to be redirected. In Apache if he has a ServerName for the first he can add a ServerAlias under that line.
