Today I migrated from Fifrefox 1.5.X to latest release version 2 (Firefox 3 is already in alpha these days, quick folks over there)
Anyway, if you're a weirdo like me on an Imac or alike, don't just drag the new app on the old, you'll end with a fully unstable version. I wrote a
few lines here on how to get it as new install. I work now since 2 hours with it, and not a single freeze anymore. Yeah I started the wrong way, always learning the hard way :s18:
Since many use Fasterfox to speed up things in Firefox... and it isn't 'yet' released for version 2, I digged a little and came up with
following hacking , According several that tested with me, it speeds a lot... I can not say it is lightning on a 56k line but it does, friend of mine on DSL flies now.
Hope some of you can use the info here, since many coders are also lovers of latest releases :cool_m:
On the
blog frontpage Jens also did a little test between IE7, FF2rc3 and Opera 9 for those interested. No exact science but just a user point of view. Enjoy
