| Google's gone bonkers again. If the site seems slow tonight it's because I am getting 1000's of Google referrals to a 1 1/2 year old thread on another forum on my server. Pretty goofy stuff since the thread never even had a reply.
I suppose it won't be till tomorrow till I can track down why. They must be tossing the salad again which makes some old stuff come to the surface.
 |

| Well, awsats gave me a clue as well as analytics. When a site has 10 times it's daily uniques it becomes obvious that there is a frenzied crowd passing through. |

| That thread is getting hammered again today. So I posted in it.
The upside is it brings attention to the site. The downside is it's an old thread and is most likely not what they are looking for. So basically, it's a wast of resources. Still, interesting to watch. |

| Not really. The bounce rate is 96%. Like I said, noone ever replied to the thread so it's not real great. I think it's the title that got it to number one and two on two different google searches regarding the game it refers to.
I am just curious as to what made eveyone do this particular web search all of a sudden. |

| If your host offers cPanel, you can look in there, under awstats, for all of your site stats |

| You're getting off topic.
And just like that, in the blink of an eye, my other site is no longer listed for that search term. And the traffic immediately died off. Google has indeed become unreliable. Even so, it shows how important it is to get good rankings for popular terms. |

| Well, then more on topic, let me ask you this.
What do you think is the problem? Google's database just becoming too large developing some instability? Or too many site to be indexed causing problems with its own algorythm for searches?
Has Google issued any releases saying they are having problems? |

| No, I think they are just experimenting with new algorithms with no regard to the effect it has on real live people who make their living or have their fun on the net. |
