I'm in love with vbulletin and ready to chuck the 'other'

But I imagine you aren't suprised by that.

No problems with Vbulletin so far...but we've barely done anything with it and we have really low usage at this point..the other one is eating up my time/energy

Eventually all this late night plotting will lead them to see that I am right ;)

I just wish Jelsoft had a 30 day evaluation version.....

whats the other one ? a phpbb2 board ?

yup.
way too time intensive. Sure you can mod the heck out of it to get it to do what you want, but who has time for that?

Oh wait--I do--as long as I skip that whole sleep thing...
Actually I coerced my partner-in-crime to do the mods (I'm just a grrl I might screw it up, yanno)

but it is seriously a pain to get it set up, compared to vbulletin.

maybe you can start a fund raiser for another vb license

I know the pains from a phpbb2 forum, I ran one for 3 years

I love my vBulletin now

not my call-its the company's site, so they get final say on what forum software I use.

But its my project (brilliant me!) so I'm pretty sure they'll switch as soon as I can show them how the vBulletin site is more user friendly--especially to forum newbies.

If they have any questions you can send them here

Just tell them that you would have more time for other work if they upgraded to vb..
Also explain how much more secure vb is over phpbb2
