I'm running vista business

Well I have a free copy of windows vista business's and have an extra HD so I decided to give it a shot..
I need to get a new graphics card to get all the cool "areo" features..

I have a birthday coming up next month ,I think I'll be able to update my graphics card then

I have the full experience in class until then.. Vista is okay I guess, it seems slower then xp with the same RAM tho

Yeah...it's a ram hog. You definitely need a tip top setup to run vista smoothly. For now, I'll keep my heavily modded XP :P

For compatibility reasons I'm sticking with XP for now. Some of the features of Vista look good but over in the UK we'v got to pay £100 more than you guys in the US. Seems a little unfair if you ask me...

ya that is unfair.

I am running Vista as well, it is very slow for me. Unless I am freshly rebooted. I run out of resources every hour it seems like. It is messed up cause it came on a brand new laptop.

If possible get a copy of Windows XP, its way better than vista if you dont have couple go GB of ram.

Re: I'm running vista business

Have you tried the readyboost feature with a 1 or 2 gig flash drive ?

I'm using a 1gig drive with my 2x512 mg sticks of RAM and it's okay
my cpu is a bit old tho, 1.67 Hrz I think.

I think I'll just get a new box sometime near the end of this year, then I'll just turn my old box into a file server

Re: I'm running vista business

I ran it for about a month on a Pent4 3.20GHZ and 2gig of ram (What I have now). It ran ok for the most part, I just had a few apps that were not compatible and it was a bit slower than XP.. I had a re-boot issue with my PC so I ended up removing it. The re-boot issue was coming from a faulty p/s but after I re-formated to go back to XP I did not want to load it all over again.

You can still buy a DELL with XP on it as long as you do Business - PC.

I think I will keep my Vista on the shelf for awhile longer.:smiley_:

Re: I'm running vista business

Vista is indeed having a very hard time to take off, even if it is standard on new models, I know most people just drop it and get xp back on there. Not sure vista will be a success or end like millenium.... For sure reseller have been forced to provide xp again like Dell... people and for sure businesses have made the budget and just said oeps .... nope way way way to expensive for having even worse. Microsoft will have to come with something new and better soon or they will continue to loose market (I know they have most, but every switcher is a definitive one... I know :-) )

We will probably see a big update to fix alot of the issues that users have encoutered so far. Microsoft tend to use the end users as beta testers...
