is there a way I can take the music from my CD's and other music files I have on the PC to the ipod ?

my sister in law has one and I guess u have to pay 99 cents a song. Does this mean I can't add the files I already have ?

yeah you can just put the songs from your cds into itunes when you load the ipod in itunes and than drag the music to your ipod

I'm downloading iTunes right now, but it's going so slow

so it doesn't matter what file format the files are to begin with ?
iTunes will convert them to work on the iPod.

the native song format for Mac is mpeg4 (not to compatible to other brands) but it will perfectly read mp3coded files.

ye just upload the songs to itunes and they will go onto your ipod if you connect it

and I seen something that I can only use the ipod and itunes I have setup on on computer ?
like my sister in law has a tones of songs on her laptop, will I be able to hook the ipod up to her laptop and get all the songs that my wife will want ?

I think I can only sync the ipod up to one box.
