For me being a newb to Linux and a Windows Consultant, linux and cpanel was a natural feel and while not as granular as windows, simplicity is its strong point IMO. One web interface does what is equal to having to know IIS, AD, Backup and exchange in Windows.
I had email, basic install, server level directory security on admincp/Modcp, data base creation done in 3 hours from the first time I saw cpanel.
I would have to say if your used to windows stay away from DirectAdmin, I hated it, so I suggest Cpanel.
