It's been *rumored* that Microsoft is already discussing a future console, although the rumors have lately been quieted. Sony plans a 10 year lifespan for the PS3. (Not sure what Microsoft planned for the 360). They believe that in the long run, all the next-gen hardware they placed in the PS3, will payoff in the future. Microsoft rushed to get the 360 out before the PS3, which seems to be paying off for them. The only downside to Microsoft getting the Xbox 360 out early, is that now, a year after the release, they have to make newer consoles with better/upgraded hardware. (I'm speaking of the Xbox Elite.) I could probably talk all day about the "console war".

I would love to own a PS3. I have heard that it is going to have a price drop sometime in October 07 which will probably give it a boost in the console wars as many people don't want to buy one due to the price. I have heard of Microsoft's new console its probably true as it does sound like a Microsoft way of making more money.

Sawyer.. Awesome write up there. I'd deffinatly have to agree with the fact of Microsoft rushing the 360, being a downside for them because of them bringing out the Elite. I see where you're coming from with that. This post may not sound like it, because im rubbish at explaining things, but yeah.. Microsoft really did have some good sides and bad sides with bringing the console out before the playstation 3..

Yeah I see what you're saying. I also have to revise what I said. I said Microsoft has to come out with a newer/upgraded version, when in reality the only upgraded part of the Xbox 360 Elite is the hard drive, which is larger in capacity.

Yeah yeah, i understood what you meant. And I agreed with it. The elite is only better because of the larger memory and alot of people would like a limited colour maybe? However, you can just buy the larger HD seperate.

Hopefully in the next week I can get my hands on my very own PS3. I can't wait! I'm going to have to work hard to pay it off though 400 pounds is a lot of money.

EDIT: Its finally arrived and its great!! I can't wait for some of the new games coming out for it either Assassins Creed, UT3 and GT4 to name a few.
