I just had to convert vB 3.6.4 to the latest phpBB and never played around with phpBB before, I'm sorry phpBB users out there but phpBB sucks aSS!

I know I've spent the past 5+ years playing with all vB forums so of course I won't like phpBB. But I just had to vent somewhere! So thanks brandon for a place to do that.

Why did you convert the vBulletin to phpBB in the first place?

I converted one to smf once, convertion tool did it's work nicely, and smf is what it is

I used phpbb2 for 3+ years, and it's not all "that bad".
It takes all hand editings, no plugin system, yet.

phpbb2 has its downfalls, but it's an okay board. A lot of big boards use it, so it must be okay for them. :p

be carefull with add ons for phpbb, they are often very badly coded and security risks. I manage hosting servers since years and I can tell you I don't like phpBB forums at all, had to lock accounts on several occasions for this. Ain't the most secure code around. If they upgrade better follow quickly.

I agree to what Eric said. Make sure its updated to the latest version quickly. Trolls are constantly scouring the net looking for versions to exploit.
It is a pretty good board otherwise.

Thanks for the upgrade idea's, but I was to convert it, so tis there problem now..

I wash my hands of that site..
(Forgot to mention its my borthers site and hes been ignoring it from almost day one.)

the convert was somewhat simple, had to use impex to downgrade the version of vB then use the converter to make it phpbb. theres only a convertor for vB3.0.x to phpbb at this time. I was supprised that everything went well only issus is avatars and attachments, but I could careless.

IF thier licence ran out, u do know that they are sill allowed to keep the version that they have, just will not be able to upgrade

That's only true when someone bought the 'Owned' license.
