starting for car/auto forum ideas?

I am considering starting a new car/auto forum for mainly Indian audience. We already have few there but I think there is a scope for few more

Looking for ideas on how I could be "different" than others

Re: starting for car/auto forum ideas?

What makes you want a car/auto forum for an Indian audience? Are you talking about discussion about autos in India (location) or in a language other than English?

Are there things that Indian people do differently to their vehicles? Do they all buy the same type or brand of car?

Maybe I need a little more insight on your idea to give proper suggestions.

Re: starting for car/auto forum ideas?

Thanks George,

I love car/autos and can talk about it for long, write my own reviews, so I thought its a subject I can start a forum.

By Indian audience I mean for autos manufactured in India. While we have most of the good brands like ford, GM, Toyota, Honda, suzuki etc most of them offer handful of models as its extremely price conscious market.

The big brands in india today are Suzuki, Hyndai and Indian Tata

Re: starting for car/auto forum ideas?

Makes a lot more sense now. I actually own a automotive detailing website and sponsor a ton of big car forums, so I'm pretty familiar with the car forum scene. I am in the process of launching an automotive detailing forum which was what led me to finding this site. It's 90% completed so far. If you want to take a peek its Detail University - Automotive Detailing Community (blog/homepage) and Detail University - Forums .

I actually have WordPress Blog and vBulletin integrated so when you want to comment on the blog it links you to a thread created on the forum to continue discussing the topic.

Let me know what you think, I'd be happy to give you my input on any ideas you may have for your car forum.

George

I'm not sure I haven't come across that problem yet. I'll look into it some more. I appreciate you signing up, it'll be dead for another week or two prior to my launch campaign. I'm shooting for 1k members in 4 months time, so it should be interesting to track.

Thanks SDPhoto, I'll have to check out your site as well. Is rhythmtalk.com a new site too? I see you have that and the SDPhoto listed in your profile.

Sorry for hijack too / split thread maybe?

George

Re: starting for car/auto forum ideas?

George,

I just made the Rhythmtalk site like 2 days ago. although its not built on Vbulletin. I didnt want to fork out more cash for this one. I built it off freesource just to snag the domain and build interest. Please tell me about your campaign. Perhaps we can help eachother out.
