Over 85% of all manufactured freight in Georgia is moved by trucks. Everything from wood to toothpaste travels from manufacturers to your local stores thanks to the owners and operators of trucking companies like Greg Hobert, owner of Hobert Trucking. All of that may change, however, since Greg and his fellow owner/operators are now on strike.

Greg emphasizes, "I'm here because of these fuel prices, they're just outrageous, ridiculous...it's to the point where my fuel prices are more than my profit. That way, I'm working backwards. I mean, if I can't take home nothing, then what's the point of working?"

Yea, we could to.....but these truckers need it more than us right now. Can you imagine filling up and paying $1000.00 for it?

I would say this is the start the tentative date was set for March 24th through April 1st. I guess they needed to start early..

Diesel was $4.25 in my area. Remind you where i live the general population is below poverty level, so thats like probably comparable to $6.00 a gallon in other places.

The problem is, if they can't get enough Owner/Operators and drivers who are responsible for their own fuel costs to strike, it won't have any effect on anything.

And its not just the truck driving industry, the price of corn has doubled since last year, so expect rising produce costs coming next that includes, milk, eggs and beef

Guys... 4 liters of diesel (a bit over 1 gallon) is almost 7$... and the gas is the same.
And hell, they raise the price every day. An average salary here is ~300$.
So you do the math.

To be honest us american private (non-commercial) motorists have nothing to complain about. Look at somewhere like Denmark, or half of the other European countries where people are converting their cars to Propane just to save a bit of cash

Yeah... i'm European too... Romania to be exact.
And the gas is way more expensive at the salaries that we've got...
I guess that the US has the cheapest gas in the world, and they have the greatest consumption as well.
