Ubuntu with beryl anyone ?

I see a setup with this in class and wanted to check it out.

Download Ubuntu | Ubuntu

you can run it straight off the CD which is cool..

I'm wanting to install beryl
Beryl-project.org

but the wiki of "how to install" is down.

Has anyone else installed beryl on ubuntu ?

I'm checking this article out

Yup, found that out last night. The thing that didn't work was the xtra drive HD didn't show all the partitions ?

I'm going to set it all backup this evening and will play around with it a little more.

Gaim, it's included in the default Ubuntu install under Applications > Internet > Gaim It's the old version of Pidgin think of it as an open source Trillian. Connects to all major IM networks.

Ubuntu's releasing a new version in about 3 weeks called Gutsy Gibbson, beta 1 was just released today and it's looking good. You can even run XP inside of Ubuntu using a virtual machine, if you've got enough RAM it runs just like if it was running nativity.

Plenty, I run XP in a VM with relative ease on 512 MB.

FTP Client: There more than a few in the repos, for small transfers I use Gnome's (Ubuntu's desktop environment) built in client. Places > Connect To Server.

For larger transfers I use gFTP or FileZilla.

Open terminal and type:

Code:
sudo aptitude install filezilla gftp
That will install both of them. To open them Applications > Internet

Also, you can ssh into your VPS right from terminal ssh [email]user@server.com[/email]

I've been running Ubuntu on and off full time since Oct 05. It's an awesome OS.

As for installing VM Server there's instructions on Ubuntu:Feisty -
