I'm trying to set up a blog for my site but am worried about security issues and dont really know how to set one up properly.

Is there anything I should avoid or do to keep my blog from being a target? What are the known security issues with wordpress?

Also, does anyone have any good links to articles or instructions on how to set one up?

wordpress is supper easy to setup

If you are really worried about security just make sure your login pass isn't the same as your forum passes.
You'll want to keep the script updated, just look in the admin panel and you'll see if you need updated.

1. get the zip from wordpress.org
2. unzip it
3. upload to your site
4. make a database and user and join them... Add this info to the config-sample.php file
5. rename ^ this file to config.php
6. go to the url of the site and click next a few times..

I think that is the name of the config file, if not, you'll get the idea.

Just keep your Wordpress up to date and you shouldn't have any problems. Also check with your host control panel and see if they have Fantastico, then it's just a couple of clicks and your done.
