I dont know if its worth sinking 60 bucks into a blog solution which may not get utilized to its full potential...though my members are asking for this iam really not sure how many of them will actually end up using it....id be lucky if i could get 6-blogs going one of which i suspect would be mine |

| Re: Blogs for vbulletin You can buy that blog addon, no matter how many members use them but it gives them one more feature to use anytime they want
I am also using it on my forum. You can see not all members are using them but some of the members have got very nice posts on their blogs |

| Re: Blogs for vbulletin I would be careful getting the vb blogs
when 4.0 comes out, you'll have to buy the whole crappy suite if you want to upgrade it.
Not sure if I'll do that, because project tools is a joke, and I have no need for the new CMS |

| Re: Blogs for vbulletin Brandon I slowly but surely tinker around with all the different aspects
vB is the platform I use and then look to integrate everything
Drupal is undoubtedly the CMS that is going to make the biggest impact once it goes mainstream and this is expected with the launch of Drupal 7
vbdrupal is a bit slow in keeping up but el M works steadily towards things, systematically and without the hoo ha
there is also Drigg which can integrate with vBdrupal
as well as numerous other mods in dev
the future looks nifty
I also use wordpress integrated however that is for the single user
and some of the eCommerce work being done with WP opens up a whole different avenue there
onwards and forwards |

| Re: Blogs for vbulletin Zoints was one of the first with the social networking aspect and attitude
if we look back now it shows they were pretty forward thinking
I never used it as I am more interested in niche social networking
where people socialise in a specific area of information the site covers

| Re: Blogs for vbulletin One question that i have been wondering for the longest.
Doesn't blog remove the whole "discussion" point of a forum?
I mean most of these "blogs" shouldn't they be posted in the forum / sections?
I'm just wondering i've been toying around with the whole adding blogs but everything stop myself thinking that i would loose the activity in the "forum" itself.... |

It was okay at first but i thought it was poorly integrated with vbulletin but i believe that was the whole point so it could be use with other forum software.
They have a lot more options when it comes to profile set up, it really did bring the whole "profile social networking" facebook type, they had a few addons to perfect it. But i haven't use the 2.0 version maybe that one's better. I gave up on it once i found out the license i paid for few months before wasn't supported with 2.0 because of change of owners and i do believe people stopped making mods for it as well... |

| Re: Blogs for vbulletin I'm not sure on the html, I would think so.. it has usergroup settings
as far as the question on their value.
I think the blog product alone is great, that's why I bought it. I'm not really happy with the 4.0 version that is included with PT and vBCMS, we'll see if I renew it in the future. |
