| Do you allow comments? To me it seems there's little point in having a blog in the first place if you're going to disable the comment function. Why share your life online if you don't want people to start a dialogue with you? Yet I see many web logs with the comments turned off; sometimes the author will make a statement to the effect that they were getting harassing comments, sometimes there will be no explanation at all. Do you have comments enabled or disabled? Maybe more importantly, do you answer them? |

| Re: Do you allow comments? I allow comments I see it as part of being an interactive site -- which is the whole point. I don't have that many comments now but I had quite a few before I switched from Zoints.
I want to spark conversation and discussion. I want to challenge people to think and get their response, even get a mild argument going. |

| Re: Do you allow comments? Maybe if my blog was actually online. Show's how much I check it, LOL. I should just put my forum RSS Feed there for the time being, is that allowed? |

| Re: Do you allow comments? How about an extension to this question.
On your comments, do you have the nofollow tag setup?
nofollow attribute = google wont follow it to your site |

| Re: Do you allow comments? some bloggers disable the comments because of spam. and if the blog talks about a delicate issue, you'll surely get bad comments. |

#14 | | Guest | I allowed comments when my blog was new, and that too dofollow ones, to encourage people into commenting. But later when I found out that it was an invitation to spam, I just pulled that feature off with simply nofollow commenting. Quote:

| Re: Do you allow comments? No, I do not allow comments to be posted on my blog. Its mainly due to that I just do not have the time to monitor the comments.
And, my blog is linked up with my forum. When I post a blog, most of the time its linked to a thread in the forum. If you want to post comments, join the forum and post them there. I see no reason to have comments spread across 2 sites.
