 no problem, I started checking the directories after your post though and seen some have lost their PR.. like the first link in the pr7 list, it a pr0  btw, sorry and glad this thread came up first for that search term  ps.. I'll try to get a list of high pr forums as well  and I'll include if they allow sigs and if they have nofollow on the external links.

If this were absolutely true then one would assume in todays competitive environment for Google #1 it would be both a viable and cost effective strategy to submit your competitors site. The more directories the merrier. Imagine that. Large players shelling out a mere pittance of say $2k to have their competitors squashed in 9000 link directories.  Sorry, just think it's Google propaganda and beyond automation. It may throw up a flag for human intervention that's all, but ultimately I am yet to believe .... not that Google would tell the utter truth anyway. They're probably a little like a religion now, preaching all the good things but breaking a few rules themselves without ever being able to show evidence of after life (after directory spam). If you have evidence of the contrary please do post it. Last vetting of sites was hand done by Google and raised much controversy, at the end of the day the last people they want to alienate is webmasters and SEO people.... but they cant openly come out and say what I'm saying is correct.
