Re: vBulletin 3.6.7

I have no clue how many lines of code VB is but it must be huge. And day after day things change on server side with new php version, mysql version etc etc. Each change anywhere can bring new problems errors. It is basically a never ending story.

Something they'll hopefully do some time soon is a local installer from your account. For people with 56 k lines uploading all the new files takes ages. Many others have or will do so (smf, Gallery etc). At least your account isn't dead for hours wile you wait all is uploaded (and hoping nothing went wrong)

I was not trying to sound a little bitchy. I just thought it was funny that they apparently worked on 3.6.6 for 6 months getting all the exploits and other stuff gone, and they were proud of it. And then once the released it, they quickly realized, hey, we didn't look at this close enough. It is bad for their business when stuff like that happens. It shows that in fact they didn't spend enough time getting everything correct. Who wants to go through updates every 2 days? Not me...
Do you know just a little bit of php?? If you do you should know that just one simple thing coded wrong and can cause you a lot of damage like forum deleted completely or just the database. You should be glad they do upgrades because if they don't in a lot of time this means something is wrong with them =\

I know nothign of php. Now html... I know a lot of. Spent years doing it. This whole php and forum thing, whatever, is all new to me. I am glad that they are fixing what is wrong with the forums. I am... I was just stating that they praised their work, and didn't check over it... and now they notice the errors 2 seconds after releasing. That was all. Very happy with VB =)

Well 1 think vb doesn't praise their work. I actyally think they are very down to earth. That being said, it is mere coincidently that it was after a new release. And its not something that was overlooked.hackers r just getting smarter.

Re: vBulletin 3.6.7

I don't think anyone uses dial-up anymore this day and age. With broadband prices so affordable and competitive, it would be dumb to waste money on a much lower connection.

As for the new update for 3.6.7, they are using a new patch release system.

Re: vBulletin 3.6.7

It's time for another development status update to keep you up to date with what's been happening and what's coming up.

vBulletin Project Tools

The private beta process for the Project Tools has been a great success. We have received lots of useful feedback on the tools from our testers and have acted on many of their suggestions, while of course fixing bugs as they are found.

The beta process has almost run its course now, and we will be looking to release Project Tools for customers to purchase very soon.

In the meantime, you may wish to whet your appetite by viewing the online documentation for the Project Tools, which is now available in the vBulletin manual.
vBulletin Project Tools Documentation

vBulletin Blog

Progress on the vBulletin Blog is going well and most features are now complete. We anticipate the private beta process for the blog beginning very soon now.

Many of the templates for the Blog are now taking shape, so I'm happy to provide you with the very first public look at vBulletin Blog in the form of some screen grabs. Enjoy!

Blog Data Request

Additionally, Jerry is undergoing the process of writing importers for various existing blogging systems but we are in need of example data.

If you currently run a blogging system and have data that you would like to be able to import into vBulletin Blog, please get in touch with Jerry via the Support Ticket System and he'll get back to you if your data is in one of the formats we are looking to import.
