vBulletin Blog Running on vBulletin.com

Have you noticed the Blogs link up there in the navbar?

The development of the vBulletin blogging product has progressed to the point where we have installed it onto vBulletin.com's forum for the use of all licensed registered visitors, in order to receive feedback and bug reports etc.

Currently we are running only the blogging component, not the social networking part, which needs further work before being ready for deployment here.

Please feel free to blog away with the tools at your disposal, and make use of trackback and/or pingback to link your blog at vb.com to blogs elsewhere - this is one of the primary things we'd like to test on a larger scale here on vbulletin.com.

Before you start blogging, you may want to add a name and description to your blog. This can be done via your Blog Control Panel, a link to which can be found on every blog page, or in the list of links from your User Control Panel. It would probably also be useful to set your default blogging options and create some blog categories, the forms for which are also in the Blog Control Panel.

We hope you enjoy exploring vBulletin's new Blog systems and we look forward to receiving your feedback.

vBulletin Blog makes it simple for community members to create their own space within the community. vBulletin Blog is priced at $50, which includes one year of software updates. The renewal fee for an additional year of updates is $20.

Existing customers with active vBulletin licenses can purchase vBulletin Blog immediately via the members' area.

New customers can purchase vBulletin Blog via the online order form - a vBulletin license must first be added into the order as per the directions on the first page. Go to the order form now!

vBulletin Blog 1.0.1 Released

vBulletin Blog 1.0.1 is a maintenance release to our second vBulletin add-on. It contains a number of bug fixes since the release of 1.0.0.

Some of the bugs fixed include:

23095 - User profile picture doesn't stay in sidebar - There is now a counter update in the blog section of the admincp that will update your profile pictures so they no longer overflow
23150 - Super moderators can view IP address
23210 - "Physically remove Message" triggers db error 1066
23058 - Minimum Rating of 0 can cause 'Division by 0' error
23152 - One Blog Moderator sees deleted entries/comments, the other doesn't.

Upgrading/Installing the Blog

Upgrades and new installations of the Blog follow the same process: upload the files and import the XML. After this, you will see a message that your upgrade or install was successful. For full instructions on how to upgrade or install, please see this manual entry.

vBulletin Blog 1.0.3 Released
vBulletin Blog 1.0.3 is a maintenance release to our second vBulletin add-on. It contains a number of bug fixes since the release of 1.0.2. This is the first release of vBulletin Blog that will function properly with vBulletin 3.7.0

Some of the bugs fixed include:

23505 - "Can Remove Entry" permission not functioning.
23504 - Moderation options missing from "Approve Comments".
23390 - Ignored users can still see your blog.
23645 - Pagination not showing.
23548 - JS error when sending a comment

vBulletin Blog 1.0.4 is a maintenance release to our second vBulletin add-on. It contains a number of bug fixes since the release of 1.0.3. This release will work with vBulletin 3.6.8 and vBulletin 3.7.0.
