semi-transparent background for tables

Hi,

i've been looking everywhere for a code that i could use on the default vBulletin template to display a semi-transparent (50%) background in the TABLES.

I have an image as my body background and my tables have opaque colour backgrounds. But i'd like to see the background through the tables, so i need 50% transparency BUT i don't want it to affect the text color

any help??
