Better chat room than Flashchat?


Flash chat seems to be the most popular chat room. What other options out there can I take a look at and are just as good or better than flash chat?

There is a shoutbox mod that I have seen many vBulletin forums use, though it consumes quite a bit of resources, but I found it better than flashchat.

I searched vbulletin.org and found abunch of outdated shoutboxes. I don't think (or couldn't find one) shoutbox is available for 3.6.8

Most of the older hacks still work with 3.6.8, just check the last page of the hacks and you will come across people who are using it for 3.6.8 or you can always ask the author to verify whether or not his hacks work with 3.6.8

I just added this hack to my last clients site. (3.6.8)
MGC Chatbox (with AJAX) - vBulletin.org Forum
and I was pretty impressed with it.. I even considered added it here for a second.

Awesome. I'm impressed with it as well from the demos, and from the user reviews it seems like the thing I want.

Different question, but on along the same lines. Is there an Instant Messenger system like AIM, that's better than the vbpager?

That does look decent B. I use vBshout 2.1 i think on 3.6.8 on both sites and the users love it, trying to come up with a scheme to get rid of it w/o them getting mad....lol

Are you using the flashchat integration from vbulletin.org? Flashchat Integration for vB 3.6 - vBulletin.org Forum

So far, this is the best option I have seen - flash chat + this integration.
