Re: Did you see the Macbook Air!!!

thanks on the title fix

My wife has a nice mac and I'd like one some day. Not sure I'd want one without an optical drive, but the solid state HD would be Pimp!

Being able to open the laptop up and have it instantly on

Re: Did you see the Macbook Air!!!

I'll never own a Mac.

It's all hype and advertising by them and it sucks when you have to have a Mac, as well as a Windows computer so that you can do what you've got to do. Kids with macs are just full of smug (Southpark, but it's true).

I know Vista has some holes, but Leopard? That thing is ridiculously unstable as well. If I want to be "cool", I'll just use Kubuntu/Ubuntu Linux Distros...

Re: Did you see the Macbook Air!!!

I don't think macs are rubish, just a little out of my price right now.
Hopefully within a year, I'll have an iPhone and a nice apply desktop or laptop.

Re: Did you see the Macbook Air!!!

And looking at it further...

Not only is it overpriced, you don't even get a CD/DVD Drive. What the hell is the point of having something so thin when you've gotta carry around a external CD/DVD drive if you don't have a PC/Apple Desktop around that will work wirelessly?

Completely impractical, but almost everything Apple does is impractical.

Re: Did you see the Macbook Air!!!

The sheer fact that .2Ghz and a solid state drive costs almost double is insane enough.

Mac's are so over priced it's unreal and it doesnt do anything windows can't

Re: Did you see the Macbook Air!!!

You get what you pay for ;)

As for the absense of an optical drive, I felt the same way.
It has a usb port with with the fact that you can get a 4 gig flash drive for 30$, I could live without a cd/dvd drive
and a solid state laptop would be so nice, being able to have your laptop instantly on when you open it would be cool.

It would be nice to have the lightweight, thin laptop to surf and do work on.
Any programs that I would need an install cd for, I could install at my house with the external ;)

btw.. you can boot from a usb/flash drive
