If you see RAPIDSHARE in your signature

As some of you are aware, this site was hacked 2 weeks back with a mysql injection that was inserted through one of the plugins on the Wordpress frontpage. We immediately took down Wordpress and disabled signatures. Since then we have reenabled the signatures, but if you see RAPIDSHARE in your sig then you will have to restore it to what it was yourself. We have no ability to rebuild signatures.

The hacker basically guessed their way into finding a mysql table they could link spam and they found the signature table. We do not believe that this occurrence will repeat itself and unlike other forums- we did not have any any important tables corrupted.

Thanks for the update Sanjay and I agree with Mikey, I think the members will be very happy to have their sig links back

ps.. also if you see someone has the rapidshare link in their sig, please report the post and let us know, we'll edit the users sig manually

sigs should be back for all usergroups. Let me know if you are unable to put a signature together?

might double check and make sure the "registered users" don't have access to add sig links

I'd think it would have been better at the time to wipe them all out and make everyone start over than leave rapid share links in place?

or...

Once the problem is identified restore the vB back a day to before the problem started?

Too late now but a thought for the action place if it happens again.

I guess my thinking was that some people would assume I just deleted their signatures randomly?

i wrote a simllar problem with similey over in feedback forum - which no one has looked

Why didn't you do a SQL query for all the signatures that contained this link and cleared them? I just logged in and found that my signature had been changed.
