It gives me great pleasure to announce that vBulletinSetup has been acquired by Crowdgather!
I’ve been friends with Crowdgather since 2007 and had always considered offering the site to Sanjay if/when I decided to sell the forum. I know what programs Crowdgather has going on, and I’ve always felt it fit for the vBulletinSetup members, as 90% of them are vBulletin owners.
I wish I could have controlled it forever, but with a baby in the house, I just don’t have time for the constant support. I’ll still be around the forums; I won’t be leaving the vBulletin scene. I just don’t have to worry about keeping the bugs fixed and software updated anymore. 
I look forward to seeing how the site evolves; I know they have few products that I was going to add down the lines. The new homepage of AdminFusion is an example of one that I particularly liked, called Crowdreport.
Hopefully I’ll have more time to update my blog, I know a few of you know the address. I’ll also be on Twitter, as well as facebook. (I’ll add the links at the bottom) Thanks to all the members through the years, you all have been so great and supportive to me. I’ll never forget that!

Hey guys- I run CrowdGather and I am glad to answer any questions you might have. As Brandon mentioned, we have known each other for quite some time now and I even flew him out to Los Angeles when I was first starting the company. He was also a consultant to us for a few months in the beginning.
I questioned his motivation for selling, but as he explained to me it was because his family and career were taking up more of his time and he wanted to focus on other passions of his. He also told me that if we did not make an offer, he would probably hang on to the site for longer. That made me feel pretty good about our relationship and his belief in CrowdGather.
Let me make an important point right from the start so we start out on the right foot. i have a corporate background which you can look at on the Crowdgather website, but I have had a vBulletin forum since 2002. The forum is an off-topic humor forum for geeks and gamers and it is called General mayhem ( Gen[M]ay Frontpage). it is still in the top 30 or so vBulletin forums in the world according to big-boards and at one time it was in the top 10. I only share this because I want you to appreciate that I come from a love of forums and not a business plan or corporate motivation. Since genmay is a crazy site I have experienced death threats, lawsuits, and all sorts of shennanigans. I have also learned to take a lot of abuse, but above all else I learned that a big forum can be magic. I figured that you guys should know this because the knee-jerk response to CrowdGather is that we are "corporate", whatever that means.
I also want to point out that we have no aggressive plans for this community except to support and improve it as a showcase of what vBulletin is capable of. Nobody buys an admin forum for a financial return Our interest in this community is primarily strategic since we are always looking to buy forums or find talented vBulletin wizards to work with.
Above all else, my company is heavily exposed to every decision made by Internet Brands and vBulletin. We have 70 licenses (25 busy forums and a bunch of incubation projects) which makes us one of the biggest customers of vBulletin. Just today I got a chance to say hello to Internet Brands CEO Bob Brisco and I was approached by their head of vBulletin product development in order to schedule a meeting for us to get to know each other better over the next few weeks. I would think that having a positive relationship with them would be helpful for us all as we evaluate the future of what software we use to run our sites.
Finally, my engineers are always asked to develop plug-ins for our forum needs. We are happy to share these with you as they become products. We also want to learn more about how you successful forum owners have figured out how to really make your communities shine!
I do not have a high post-count on this forum because I am not engineering savvy with PHP and MYSQL, but you will see my history on TAZ and vBulletin.org because I have been around in this space for a long time. My focus has been on community and monetization issues.

Congrats to you both. Brandon if your happy then I'm happy for you. I know all to well what a little one brings to solidify a family unit. I understand all to well the importance of being there for little Leo as a dad, the time really does go by fast as I've recently learned with my son, my baby boy recently leaving the nest. Cherish every moment with him.
This place has become my home away from home from my forums, my sanctuary to continue to grow and learn and the members here are like a vb family here of many brothers of whom I greatly admire and respect. I don't forsee that changing under new ownership and will continue to support Sanjay and vbulletinsetup.com in all the growth that will come from it. So my best wishes and congratulations to you both, I'm sure it was a bittersweet decision for you Brandon and trust you know what is best for yourself in growth and the continued growth of the boards here.
