Dallas Area Moms

Dallas Area Moms is forum for moms and moms to be in the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex. The forum was started on September 29, 2002.

We have several hundred members that check and post everyday and over 1400 total members. We do prune inactive members often.

Some of the more exciting features are these:
  • Playdate Forum - A place just for senior members (100 post and over 30 days) to plan and discuss further playdates.
  • Private Forum - A place for Paid Senior Members (Paid Subscription plus 100 posts and 30 days) to share more private issues.
  • The Podium - A moderated forum for senior members for more conversational issues to be discuss in a respectful manner. There are a lot of issues around raising kids and this is where you can speak your mind respectably and stand your ground.
  • Expert's Corner - We have 5 experts from the community to answer your questions.
  • Ask a Pediatric Dentist

  • Ask a Financial Planner
  • Ask a Pediatrician
  • Ask a Lactation Consultant
  • Explore DFW - A forum with specific formatting rules to document places around DFW such as Mall Play Areas, Parks, Water, Kid-Friendly Places to Eat and Parents Only. The formats of the forum allow members to find what they are looking for in certain areas. We are working on placing all entries into a Google Maps format for easier searcher. Big Job.
  • Family Life - An area to discuss issues around your family, home, pets and general life.
  • The Trading Post - A forum to Buy/Sell/Trade anything. Members must be a senior member to post.
  • Home Business and Advertisements - Here senior members can discuss and advertise their home based business. We have a strong following of moms who always look here first before going elsewhere.

And tons and tons more.

Re: Dallas Area Moms

Thanks for adding your site, but can you please add a better longer description up there ^^

This does a few things for you. It helps the submission get indexed, and we've noticed that it'll gain more PR, with the better details.
And 2, it'll get you more visitors to the site
Anyways, I'll suggest a few things after you fill out a longer description

cheers

ps. Love the style

Is this not normal?

We have very active and dedicated moderators. They are often asked by the members to do something specific and having the column allows the members to know who to ask. I know there is a "report" link which let's the moderators know, but this lets the users contact them directly by name.

Sounds good, I just asked because it helps to clean up the links for on-site SEO.

anyways.. next thing I suggest is to work on your site description

<meta name="description" content="This is a discussion forum for moms in the Dallas Area." />

You have a lot more room to stuff keywords in ;)
