Discuss New York is a new web site destined to be a great resource for all things related to New York State. Please take a moment to look around and provide me with some feedback. I'd love to hear your suggestions, or even better see some registrations!

After some thinking I landed on this for the one liner:

Discuss New York is an online community and resource of information for New York State!

Can probably use some tweaking, but it's a start and at least sets the direction in my head.

nice skyline header, bit heavy for 56 k people and some buildings are missing in reality.

First remark is the classical, how to make your welcome message an image

then forum title combined with big header pushes your forums/post way down, had almost to scroll to see first line ....

not sure if a little smaller wouldn't be nicer. But that's personal taste and.....

Thanks for the feedback. Yeah, I definitely agree "crushing" the existing header a little might not be a terrible thing. I was on dialup over Thanksgiving and I know what you mean about the load time. A redesign was started, just haven't gotten around to having the new header images completed yet.

The header image has been replaced with a slicker and faster loading image.

I also moved the navigation links back into the navbar template.

I think it looks better now. the more content above the fold issue should be resolved too.

What do you think?
