Create your IMG name it navbargrad.jpg

about 500px X 95px

upload to images/

Add New CSS

Go to your style then main CSS

then at the bottom in the additional CSS add

HTML Code:
.altbg {
background:#FFFFFF url(http://www.yoursite.com/images/navbargrad.jpg) no-repeat scroll right top;
color:#000000;
}
Thats white edit as need be

Then Edit the Nav Bar Template

Find
HTML Code:
<td class="alt1" width="100%">
Its Towards the top
