| Anyone using Open Ads (formerly PhpAdsNew)? Hello everyone,
As my forum gets more and more active, I'm always looking for ways to better monetize it. Many of my members are from Canada and Great Britain (for reasons I'm not away of) and therefore I like the idea of using geotargeted affiliate ads.
Anyway, I was just curious if anyone was using Open Ads successfully.

| Re: Anyone using Open Ads (formerly PhpAdsNew)? I finally broke down and installed 2.4 and got familiar with it. I was able to finally understand it using how tos from the forums and the docs.
I tried phpadsnew a long time ago, got confused, got distracted and said it was too complicated. I even looked at other ideas.
Anyway, I set it up on it's own domain and dove in. Once you get it, you get it. But it's not too hard with the how to. If something is wrong, delete everything and try again. It took me a couple of tries to title each aspect of setting up things to make sense, but I got it finally.
I plan on implementing it in production in the very near future.
Give it a go live. It will work out. There seems to be great support and docs to back you up. |

| Re: Anyone using Open Ads (formerly PhpAdsNew)? OpenAds isn't a program. It's a script that allows you to manage advertising.
From my understanding (which may be wrong), it allows geotargetted ads, allows you to track # of impressions of a given banners so you can charge by the impression, and will expire an ad after X amount of transactions.
There is probably a lot more to it.

I was looking at it, and it looks very powerful but I settled for vb ad management since my site is a forum only and it offers everything I need to keep track of my advertisements and locations. vB Ad Management 3.1 (Ad Sharing Edition) - vBulletin.org Forum | |

| Re: Anyone using Open Ads (formerly PhpAdsNew)? I have started using phpadsnew from this month on my webmaster blog and travel directory, so far I am quite happy with it. Though I am not quite sure how one would display adsense and other javascript based ads through it. |

| Re: Anyone using Open Ads (formerly PhpAdsNew)? I've been using phpAdsNew for years (since 2001), I haven't updated to OpenAds yet, but I will... I will put it in it's own account (own domain) because I run the ads across multiple sites and servers... the interface or navigation was not intuitive for me for a long time, but after about 30 minutes of clicking around I finally got it. I hope the OpenAds team has gotten together and improved things a lot :-)

| Re: Anyone using Open Ads (formerly PhpAdsNew)? I used to use phpAdsNew. I uninstalled it. Why do you need it? You can put an adsense leaderboard at the bottom of your navbar template. And it looks like google no offers a way to display additional ads through your adsense, though I don't know the exact details on that yet since I signed up a couple days ago an am waiting for approval. Anyways, it's one less thing to keep track of updates for if you don't really need the phpAdsNew installed in your site.

| Re: Anyone using Open Ads (formerly PhpAdsNew)? PAN was great then with the upgrading to OpenAds the software became very server intensive
This year I will create a server just to host the 2 Adservers
If you have a relatively busy website, don't host the Adserver on the same server as it can really slow your site performance down
Its a magnificent package filled with possibilities and has the capabilities for you to set-up your own Ad Network, something which interests me |

You are leaving a ton of money on the table if you think Adsense will pave your way to riches.
We make 100X more money per month with our private advertisers and affiliate links than with Adsense. |
