Bidvertiser PPC Ad network review (from the perspective of an advertiser)

Late last month I had signed up for Bidvertiser’s PPC program as an advertiser, at that time I had received a credit of US$ 20 as sign up bonus. After having spent those twenty bucks and 14 bucks more, I feel Bidvertiser doesn’t actually measures up to other PPC networks, such as Google Adwords. Here’s why:

During the course of the advertisement campaign, my ad received a total of 78,658 impressions and a measly 41 clicks! That’s a click through rate of under 0.05%! While on average a click had cost me 82 cents, even though I remember specifying a CPC of 70 cents!

Heck even today my daily allowance is showing - 46 cents, which means they have over shot my daily budget!

On top of this, time taken for approving an ad is normally 48 hours which you ask me is pathetically slow and they claim they notify the publisher once the ad is approved. Which was done when I started my first campaign, but not with the second one!

Overall I also found the quality of traffic sent in by their network to be pathetic with an average of 1.17 page views per visitor and an average time spent of seven seconds with the bounce rate of 88.89%! Heck Google Analytic is also showing 18 visitors through Bidvertiser referrals, opposed to 41 claimed by Bidvertiser!

What do I make of it?

I think they need to develop better tracking algorithm to track false clicks and attempts by publishers to cheat us advertisers out of our hard earned money, by clicking on the ads themselves!

My 2 cents, I guess I better stick to Google Adwords!

Which site are you promoting? Also what keywords are you targeting? If your paying .70 or even .82 for a click that is an awful lot, in my opinion.

Also the one thing I would be concerned about is your bounce rate, it's almost 89% and they are only visiting less then 1.50 per visit. You not giving people a reason to stay at your site or your targeting the wrong crowd.

I was bringing in those people to my forum and I was targeting mostly travel related niches. Heck even the ad was worded in a manner that would interest people who wanted to go to a travel forum!

Had tried similar thing with Adwords few months back, though the campaign was quite small, it had better results.

Yeah, I've never liked Bidvertiser - from a publisher POV.

I've tried Bidvertiser from the Publisher side, the CPC was good - but the targeting was horrid, so nobody was clicking the ads.

I guess that might be the reason behind the low CTR I got.

You'll find this with a few programs that their stats never match your stats. It always seems that some programs send much more visitors to your site than your actual stats claim you have received.

It's a shame that it didn't do well for you. Times like this is when you move onto the next place to try advertising.
