How much do you make with Google Adsense?

Ive been using google adsense but I rarely get clicks. I have accumulated 27 dollars in like 5 months which is nothing.

just build traffic, the spot in the top right does the best for us.

I have read many such threads and i cant understand how a site can't
or at least make some money from Adsense.

From word go we have had great success with adsense.

I cant say we have done anything more then just place the adds on the website.

Having a lot of traffic helps off cause as do have a large number of members.
I think the main priority with a website is to get those members keep
coming back and getting new members to sign up.
Allways trying to add new thing and something different other site dont have.
The other thingyou have to spend money on a site to make money.

At the moment only from adsense it pays for
all our servers and any other expence the website may
have and still have a bit left over
for us.

get a piece of paper and pencil

draw out a square for every page with adsense on it

inside the squares, draw little ad spots u use

assign names to each spot EG:
i have on Talk Delaware

TDH1 and TDH2 for 2 spots on homepage
TDFH1 and TDFH2 for 2 posts on forum index
etc, etc

make a custom channel for each name

make your ads with those channels

implicate the ads

watch what gets clicks

also

install google analytics free, and see where people are clicking with the site overlay feature, target those areas.

At the moment I make about $1k a month in adsense from 1 forum. It was as high as $2.5k at one stage, but I've taken a hit from Google at the moment.

I also work on a site, which will remain nameless, that gets over $150k a month just in adsense (has other revenue streams too, adsense is about 40% of this).

Amazing guys! I have them showing up on the second and last post, on the top of the forum in text links and on the bottom of the forum. Possibly its because I dont get enough hits who knows lol.

I've been in the adsense game since 2004...

Can make some money with it...if you've
a)got the traffic
b)the traffic is at least somewhat valuable.

Topped out around $2500/mo as remember..

Not very much.........But I don't use adsense very much on the forum as of last week.

I have yet to make the first $100.00 and my forum is 8 months.

We are pretty much the same. We started using to to help with our server bills, domain bills etc (we have two servers) and quickly found that it covered all our costs with a bit to spare, so we run a few competitions every so often.

Also if you have pages with very different content, ads tend to be scattered and not really targeted, you can help by adding the code adsense has to ignore parts of pages, blocks etc. In a forum now gone I managed to have better results this way. And it is a combination of many traffic and well placed ads (overlay trick is really good) and help adsense to show best... and then hope people click.

Talking to a freind today about adsense
i found that he was not channeling his
adds propely.

To make myself clear say your site
has to do with cars.
Ok your members love cars but who says
that they dont like phones.

so would you not use phones as a channel too
it like offering you member something else other
them cars .

So the words you use to channel adds to your
site should be adds that your members would like
too see and to click on.

I thought i would share this with you all
as i said if my freind didnt know this
maybe others don,t either.

Afaik you can't decide what ads to show on a site. Bigger sites have the ability to suggest a keyword (needs approval from your adsense manager) but other than that it just takes content from the page and tries to guess what the subject is.

Using channels on adsense just means you can keep track of where you're displaying your ads. I.e. I have a channel for my top ad, left ad, 300x250 ad, link unit so I can track performance of each.

use it wisely, I used it in the past to get get better results on page like cmps that have many titles and useless words for adsense. It tends to show more related content to titles then to the posts. Use the tags to clean out the page so adsense only 'looks' to the postbits and not the surrounding text

Well lets see I spoke to a friend who explained to me how to use channels...

Hopefully I have some better results. Im also sure that a lot of it has to do with traffic the more traffic the more clicks. I dont have that much traffic on my forum on a steady basis.

I'm earning $300 to $400 monthly with Adsense in my forum archives. A while back I was earning a bit more than $3,000 monthly, but that was not for forum based sites.

So adsense is a pay per click system? It doesn't seem like it makes a lot of money $1-50 per month from the responses given here. Does it slow down your site?

It seems you guy's don't earn that much from adsense compared to what some others earn. I know there are some people that are earning over $10,000 per month from it.

the key to success is the quality of your traffic, the amount you have and the optimization of the ads on your page and not forgetting your type of niche you have the ads on.

In my defense my forum members don't see any ads. Off course I have a long way to go before my forum actually becomes big and starts receiving some real traffic.
