Shopping cart for physical products and downloads?

I would love to be able to offer my users a few products and digital downloads I've created, but I can't seem to find a shopping cart/mod that will do everything I need. I could easily set up a Zen Cart, but there's no way to integrate it with vB. I hear GeekMart will do this, but it isn't available yet. Of course I'd like it to use Paypal, but it woulld be nice if it could also integrate with a points system so members could earn something. Any ideas?

Looks great for digital downloads, but no physical products...

I have his slideshow that I use on my homepage. His stuff has been good and he's been great on customer support for me. Others have complained, but I have nothing but good things to say about Lionel.

Really, I'm surprised there doesn't seem to be anything available. I can't possibly be the only one who wants to do this, right?

Another option is the hmmshop available from VB-hacks scripts it allows real/physical products as well as downloadable content.

It is a relatively cheap modification - it integrates well with vbulletin and allows paypal shopping.

Has anyone used the MMStore Commercial Script from vB-hacks.com?

I'm in need of something like this and wanted to see if you were pleased or not.

I tried to view their demos but kept getting logged off (and got an invalid password error when I tried to log on in that section... forums worked fine though). The owner said there was a 30 day free trial available, I'll try that next I guess.

Awesome...let me know how it works for you Michelle.

I've got some embroidered hats and shirts that someone made for me and I wanted to start carrying them in a 'store' like that without paying the big fees. There's a site... Shopping Cart Software by Volusion Ecommerce Solutions ... which seems very good, but I'm not sure that I'll sell enough to justify paying the fees at this time.

Re: Shopping cart for physical products and downloads?

Hey there,
I do have this installed on my boards - however I have nothing on them at the moment - I am helping the owner of vb-hacks.com out by posting a little something something about each of his modifications as he is quite sick (If any of you knew much about sport in particular Paralympians you would of at least heard of this guy - Michael Milton an Australian Paralympic Cycler and he is battling another bout of cancer etc)

So anyway getting back on topic - I do have this installed on my forums - nothing is in it as I am still setting up my site for its launch on Jan 01 2009 - I can tell you that there are 30 day trials available for all of Michaels' modifications for you to try but if you guys do not want to risk it I can throw some bogus stuff on there one downloadable and one real life and charge like 5cents for it for you to try it out and check out the payment options etc and then i will send your money back (if you go through with the sale) if not at least you would of had a chance to check it all out.

Let me know if you are not keen on getting his 30 day trial and I will set it up on my forums, its installed etc just not showing on the nav bar and nothing actually in the shop. But if you tell me you want to check it out i will have two things up within like 10mins of reading your message and will send you the link.

Just trying to help guys!

Re: Shopping cart for physical products and downloads?

Merk, that would be awesome! Please share. I am trying to make some decisions pretty soon to get my 'store' setup and ready to go before the end of the year.

I would definitely appreciate the help with this. Thanks!

OK I have set up the shop for you to look at Sports Force Test Shop

Here are a number of screen shots (2)-
One is mainly to look at the options you have on the left hand side with the store.
The second are options when entering an item.

I hope this help. Sorry i couldnt do more

Re: Shopping cart for physical products and downloads?

Merk, looks pretty good.

I have a question though. If the gentleman has limited access to computer time due to his illness, what would we be expecting for 'support' on this mod if needed?

Re: Shopping cart for physical products and downloads?

He is a parapalegic not dying - I never once said he has limited access to the computer I said I was helping him with his website to make it look better and to make sure everything works which is what we are looking at at the moment.

He is on his website for about 12 hours a day, and he is taking 3 people including me through his whole code so that we are able to supply support and the best thing is those 3 people are from different parts of the world so someone should be on to offer support 24 hours a day - he has someone from the United States, someone from England and me from Australia.

Re: Shopping cart for physical products and downloads?

Gotcha...thanks for clearing that up. I'm sorry about that.

So, we would be fine with the support side of it. Hmm...I'm debating this one. Seems pretty good. I might have to do the trial. Maybe I can jump on the trial at the end of next week when I get caught up on a few things.

Thanks again for the info Merk!

Re: Shopping cart for physical products and downloads?

no problem thats what these forums are for - for us to share information with each other.
Either way I am glad that you at least checked it out and if gave you another option apart from some of the very expensive premium mods that are released around the place.

Re: Shopping cart for physical products and downloads?

I finally got around to downloading the free trial version, but when I decompressed it my McAfee virus scanner popped up a warning claiming it had removed a trojan from mmstore_admin.php. I looked through the file and didn't see any remaining signs of a trojan, so I uploaded the files and imported product-mmstore free rc2.xml. I refreshed the admin panel and went to set the settings, but got an error when I clicked on Store Settings. It looks like it didn't install any database tables; I've got to go eat now, but will check on the database tables later.
