Re: Peel away ads

I personally don't see much point in it. It just looks like you need to put a paper weight on the peel away part of your site just so that you can press it down. lol

Not something I will consider using I don't think unless there becomes a good affiliate program that pays on a good CPM rate for all the times the thing is peeled back.

I don't mind the small ones, not ones where basically half of the page becomes a massive peeled away advertisement and then my MacBook's CPU fan starts arching up because of all the overloaded Flash effects.

I think they can work on other types of sites, maybe not forums though

Re: Peel away ads

I've never seen the ones where half the page peels away. I have seen the ones where around just under quarter of the page peels away. It was quite fun at first peeling them away, but it's quite annoying when the page is slightly peeled all the time just so that you know it's a peel away section.

Re: Peel away ads

Cool for the first time. Slightly annoying the second time. By the third time I see the offcenter webpage and the peel way ad, I'm gone from the site. I don't think this ad system will be popular. It is an interesting concept, however I believe it will be quite annoying and a deterient for most regular users of a site, especially forums.

Re: Peel away ads

I'm can't 100% remember the last time I saw a peel away add, but I think it peels away when you hover your mouse next to it, well a site had it and if I remember I tried clicking on a link that was near it and everytime I would go and try and click on it I couldn't as the page kept peeling away. lol
