It does it here as well...

As to pricing?

I don't know... I suppose it depends on if there is anything else you add to the hack.

As it is now, it's great and does what it's supposed to do, but it's really just a template mod at the end of the day.
If you want to be able to command a decent fee, you'd have to make it so that the template mods were automatic with the import of the xml... A "printable" version ... Possibly a 5 star review type addition...

These are all the things that I'd consider in what I'm willing to pay. If I came "in off the street" and found this mod... If it was $20-30, i'd consider it... Anything more in its current format, I don't think I would.

Another thing to consider is this... There isn't a decent recipe mod for vb and it's something a lot of people have asked for / wanted for a long time...

Would it be better to sell it for $30 and only have 10 people buy it = $300

Or sell it for $5 and have 100 people buy it = $500

If it were me, I'd go for the cheaper option and sell loads of it, but that's just me!

Found your problem. You keep adding extra line breaks.

Separate the lines with 1 line break.

step 1
step 2
step 3
step 4

Ok, teaches me from C&P from recipe sites! ;)

that said, it seems to be the only thing that is 'wrong'... Other than that, I've created/edited/attached/deleted posts all successfully.

If there is anything else you want tested/done, shout but as far as I'm concerned, it works fine now! Great job"

Re: Report so far...

Actually...

I just thought of something that could generate a higher price tag...

I don't know if it can be done, but what if you added the ability to import txt files?

I have several hundred txt files of recipes that I've collected over the years and all would have to be C&P'ed into the hack as is now... However, if you added the ability to import pre-formated txt files, I'd definitely pay $30 for the hack just to save time...

If it can be done, do both... Sell the hack as is now for cheap so that loads of people can afford it if they want it and offer the txt import version for a premium for those who'd rather pay the extra cash than sit there and do data input all day long.

Just a thought.

Re: Report so far...

Thats a good idea, but their will be 1 problem. I feel their would be no way to incorporate this as their will be no way to know what data goes into what field. But I am implementing the print for the recipe right now. Its working, now I just have to put the phrases in because it is hard coded.

Re: Report so far...

I thought that would be an issue but if there is a 'template'... Or variables can be declared?

So I have:

instructions: blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah

ingrediants: blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah

directions: blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah

format... I can go through the list and put

2instructions: blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah

3ingrediants: blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah

1directions: blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah

Where the numbers declare what field they'll import into?

Again, I'm not a coder so if it doesn't work sorry making a fool of myself! Just thinking that if there is someway to declare what is what field, there'd still be 'work' involved in importing txt files, but not as much as not having the feature at all...

I really dont see this possiable. you could make it a .sql file, but that would be more work then the copy and paste. also a friend (writer of vblogetin) said I shouldnt charge, so I dont know waht I should do now.

Re: Report so far...

I hate my computer I had a long reply and it crashed.

Right... In short... The mod, although good and no one else has come close to releasing something like it, is really just a modified showthread mod (I know it isn't but... you know what I mean) where as something like vBlogetin is an intensive mod with its own templating engine and datastore and I only paid $50 for 2 years license.

If you are going to charge, as it is, I'd only charge $5 or so so that it doesn't put people off by its price but you still get remunerated for the work you invested in creating the mod. Something like vBProjects is only €5 (about $5) vB-Hacks - Boutique - MGC vBProjets

If you want to charge more, in my opinion as an end user, I'd want to see a lot more features added first to justify the cost.

Just my $.02

Re: Report so far...

Either I will release for free, or something cheaper $ 5 USD prolly. That will still get a lifetime licence with aa year of updates and support I guess.
