It lets other sites know when your blog has been updated.

I am not sure about that, but it will definitely slow down your site trying to ping each one of those feed services..

Edited: Just read the beginning of that thread with the info and it stated to go in 'Update Services' under 'Outgoing LinkBacks'. I'll be trying that a little later.

I checked and looks like Ross already hooked it up!

He took care of all of the settings when I purchased it for him. He had these already entered along with these two....

I read on that thread that it can, in fact, slow down your site. But, I didn't read any specifics.
