Boy oh boy what a Monster Digg is.

Needless to say my server choked. I was also on the mainpage of Reddit.com as well at the same time so the amount of traffic I was receiving was insane. Google Analytics tracked 13,000+ uniques for the whole day and 3k+ came within one hour :taz:

The amount of backlinks I have received from other sites, forums, blogs is insane.

This is the thread that made it: Hail: 1 Airplane: 0 - Mustang Evolution

If you look at the bottom you can see how many sites are linking to that thread right now.

I am looking at upgrading to a "digg compatible" server right now. The one I have now just can't handle that many connections at once from all those sites.

That's awesome, congrats. One of my sites recently got to the front page too. I didn't get as much traffic as you did, but it was nice nonetheless. I was even more pleased that my server handled it without any difficulty.

Yea I am still getting backlinks to that thread

How many have you gotten so far? Did the thread's PR update with the latest pr export?

He got a PR of 5 for that thread on the last update

I am sitting at 63 right now and that is only the english ones that I have approved. I deleted all the non english links which were probably another good 30-40.

I had a recent digg incident myself.

That's only after, I took the dugg file down and redirected them to my forum (and later to a 404 page). I have right at 100,000 uniques for this month.
