Navbar Adsense Question

I wanted to pick some brains about navbar adsense.

I want to add it, in small fashion like it is on VBSetup (attached).

I really dont want the large ads, just the small one. Does someone have the navbar code I would use for this?

The other question is about upgrading to new versions of VB? I started with 3.68 patch 2 so I have never upgraded before. Will there be any problems when upgrading, having all of these code hacks in the template? I try to stick with product installs for hacks, and limit any code hacks, for that reason.

My main concern is that once I upgrade, if something breaks, I may not (probably wont) remember all of the manual edits I have made, therefore leaving me with a hosed design.

Or do you think upgrading (3.7) wont affect these manual code hacks.

Re: Navbar Adsense Question

Google adsense lets you set up what type of ads you'd like to see. If you'd just like a line of text like that, just choose that design when it asks what designs you'd like.

Re: Navbar Adsense Question

Thanks rocket, I probably was a clear as mud when I asked that. I do realize how to get the adsense code and sizes, but more specifically was wondering how to apply it to the navbar. ex. where to place the code in the navbar template, do i just copy paste it in there, or does it need some formatting around it to work properly, that kind of thing. I will go get the code now, and see what happens when I paste it in.

Re: Navbar Adsense Question

You can try at the end of your navbar template, possibly your forumhome template, and there are probably a few other options as well.

vBulletin has a comparison feature for its templates where you can compare your template to the default for the latest version and make the necessary changes for compatibility. Alternatively, you can upload the default style for the version that you're upgrading from and compare yours to it to find the changes you made and remake them to a reverted template.
