do you use www or no-www

Which method do you prefer to use on your sites. The www to prefix everything or no-www.

If you can access your site using both www and no-www thats good, but make sure one forwards to the other one or else you've got duplicate content and that can be a real problem. You should consolidate your page then

Re: do you use www or no-www

Just in case anyone is wondering (like I was) I found this thread that describes what a 301 redirect is and how to do it. I couldn't find one on this site, but from vbseo.com

[How to] Setup www.yourdomain.com or yourdomain.com (www vs. non-www) - With .htaccess 301 redirects - vBulletin SEO Forums

Re: do you use www or no-www

I managed to the nonwww to www for the mysite . com but

I also want to get my subdirectory http://mysite.com/directory to have the www in front.

How do I manage that? Thank you.

Re: do you use www or no-www

I don't use the www. for any of my sites - I have the 301 re-direct though - so all is good.
