I already tried searching this site using the terms 'googlebot' 'spider' 'fake' and 'ip'. If I missed something, please let me know.

I am noticing a fake google spider in my who's online. From what I find around the web, these are just companies playing on our curiosity to check them out. I don't like the idea and would like to prevent them from being on my site, but I don't know how to do that effectively and keep the real google spider crawling my site.

The most recent fake ip for a "google spider" was 'vps.123ringtones.info'

Does anybody know anything about this?

wow, spammers just keep getting more creative.

you can disable spider display
then they would all just show as guest
and what users is going to click one link of 50 guest?

or disable the online.php page from showing to members or guest

I am not concerned with seeing them since my users can't see the ip addresses anyway, I am concerned with them hurting the performance of my site.

Apparently, they are hdidng themselves under some sort of system related to google and people are complaining with tons of random urls (thousands) in their sitemaps report. Somehow they are using the google spider system as a proxy and it has been reported to affect your actual google data.
