Getting into Google blog alerts


I have a google blog alert (as well as news alerts) for keywords related to my site (a good source of new info to start threads). Within hours of me joining here a vBulletinSetup and adding my forum to the directory, I got a Google blog alert about the listing!! (thats impressive!).

How do you get a forum into Google's blog alert service???

Simple option, register your RSS feed with Feedburner and then use it to ping various ping services and blog directories.

does it work well with forums ? I know I have the blogs setup, and I think I set the forum up, but it seems it didn't work as well..
