excited no, just hoping they don't get messed half way like last time. And hopefully they haven't changed the rules t much... some lost all ranking even if nothing changed, just Google's rules :-)

My forum has 424 indexed pages but no backlinks, although Yahoo has some. I hope I at least get a PR of 1 in this update.

Yahoo loves me, but google doesn't seem to enjoy my sites that much.

I planned on getting vBSEO this week, but my server doesn't work with it and I dont know how hard/time consuming a server switch is. It doesn't sound like it'd be fun though

You should be able to upload the ioncube loaded, have you asked your host if you can add Zend or ioncube ?

Yeah, vBSEO helps you site a lot. Especially with Google Backlinks. Until I purchase it I'm using Zoints SEO.

Well vbseo doesn't really have anything to do with back links. It's more of a tool to optimize the content on the site.

Having friendly URL's is important because the backlinks might have many parameters. Google can handle a few but not too many (session ID's).

would i get my hand smacked for not having faith in vBseo? i am seeing some so-so real life reviews....

the predicted PR's for my site are staying steady and 4 for the homepage and 3 for the forum.

I'm following a few sites as well. AF I'm waiting on because Brent said it's gonna take a few months so the end of this month should help them out if it does work.

We'll see how things go, I'm gonna get it because I "think"

it works, and I do like some of the other features it has.

Got an update. I do have Zend on my server, but it was just saying it couldn't do it because its an older version.

So that makes me breath a bit easier and now I just gotta ask my host if they can update Zend (I ask them to do that right, its nothing I do personally?)

Yeah, only your host can update Zend. Don't worry, they should okay it.

How can you lose backlinks? Did the person remove the link or something? And I believe 404 backlinks is still a great feat; my site has none. How do you do it?

404 is nice, but yahoo shows 70,000+

and google webmaster tools shows 60k

Yeah...Idk about Google sometimes. It always shows thousands less for me...It shows I have 8 backlinks...c'mon. I know I have more than that. Almost every gaming site that deals with Xbox's links to my site. Huge sites with 300,000+ users links to my site...so IDK what's up. For over 2 years it has said 8 backlinks...EXACTLY 8. I wanna cry

Backlinks are so frustrating.

But even though my backlinks don't show it, my search results are good and I'm getting a lot of new traffic from Google searches, so that's cool. Something is working.
