Directory submissions are good, but most of my footer page is getting filled with reciprocal urls
Any non-reciprocal directory submissions out there ? | | Join Date: Mar 2007 | Posts: 306 | Location: Kent, WA | Re: Got listed in DMOZ, now what ? 3-4 weeks WOW! Nice job, my Demolition Forum was accepted in about the same amount of time, but yet some I submitted at the same time, I am still waiting and that was almost a year ago.
I used to have a list around, I will look for it and see if I can find it and post it. If I remember very little of them required a reciprocal link. | | | Join Date: Feb 2007 | Posts: 866 | Location: New Delhi, India | Re: Got listed in DMOZ, now what ? There was a list posted on DP of free forum directories, but can't seem to find that link. You can try this tool to submit your site to various free directories (some of them have converted to paid so just skip those).
Also there are people who will submit your site to various directories (free ones without reciprocal links) for a few dollars.
Also you ought to add your website to your signature in all the forums you participate in, that will get you some traffic as well as backlinks. Here is an article that I wrote on how to go about it " Forums, a good source of targeted and relevant traffic"

Here is a list of high Page Rank directories
I have a few in my sig, eric has a few, several of the other members do too.. You're welcome to submit your site to all of them
Cheers

ps. don't put directory reciprocals in your footer ever..
You want the lowest amount of out going links as possible. You can make a single page for reciprocals if you want.
Here is one I use from time to time http://forum.vbulletinsetup.com/custom-pages-links.html
