[HOW-TO] Make your Welcome Headers an image!

Although the text seems to be screwed up now, it's all fuzzy.

This should be better, solil and karel, ill have you guys images shortly...have to wait till i get home to slice them, i dont have dreamweaver here...

ETA: Glenny, the upload to vbs is what degraded the image, so it is attached safely in a zip here

You're welcome Glen, hey solil, here is yours if you want to take a look. I am thinking when you add the image it will be placed in that welcome box BG color #FFE6EE so that is what it is now.

Hello,

Can someone make me a welcome header image for me.

I already have everything writen down and the way i want it to look. I also have the background color that i need for my board. I also have the size that i want because i want to have a adsense block on the left side and on the right i want the welcome message.

The only thing i need is making the link ( Register ) and the code.

I'm curious can we forgo the welcome headers hack and just use the notices feature for 3.7 and above?

you can Dan, in fact the newest welcome header hack just sets up your notices automagically (so i still recomend the newest version) it isn't really adding a hack now, just saving you time.

Besides my welcome message I have no clue. When it comes down to being creative I get a one out of ten. I do know that Id like an image for register link with the welcome message.

I actually like your Delaware one it looks great.

I just been thinking about this image welcome header - how about a flash based version, either populated via flashvars or a text file, so the text could be changed, along with a couple of images that alternate. Just being creative rather than just a jpeg of gif. Obviously, the whole header would have an invisible button to allow registration.

Just an idea..

You could even make it animated with adobe image ready.. Good thinking Syrus..

It is not possible to create animation using Adobe ImageReady, to use within Adobe Flash. Animated GIF's is one type of image that is not supported by Flash, since it can produce stunning effects using very small file sizes. Basically, a tween of some kind could be used in a welcome header to grab your visitors attention and by tween I mean it could be motion, shape or use actionscript (for lightweight file size).

I'll see what I can come up with...
