Matt Cutts: Pagerank update coming soon

Matt Cutts in a recent blog post has confirmed that Google would be updating Google Toolbar Pagerank soon and one might just see few old penalties being expired!

I don't think I'll see my pagerank go up, every time I use a page rank prediction tool it says the same thing :frown:

You know, I have to read up on this aspect of my site. I really don't know about the differences in the PageRanks and how one gets a higher or lower rank and how you measure whether backlinks are up or down or sideways...sheesh.

I'm just worried about content and features on the site too much to even think about that part of it. Brandon, point me where that $50 SEO check thingie you do is please

Almost all of the PR prediction tools are useless!

I agree that watching your PR is useless

I see some many ppl get excited about waiting for their PR to raise, that they forget about taking care of their forums or websites.

Well if you are looking at monetization factor, then having a good toolbar PR would mean that more people would be interested in buying link and banner ads from you.

My site has been online for 5 months now and still PR0, I just want to be on the ladder lol. Im not that bothered about PR but would like to be greater than 0 lol.

Hopefully it will jump up a little in this update.

One of my sites went from 3 to 4

(actuallly it had once been at 5 when it was a phpnuke site, and I probably screwed that up by transferring it to first phpbb, then vB, then adding vbseo which changed all the urls several times... but it had to be done.) Glad it's finally improving again!

BCMTouring went from PR 3 to PR 2

(haven't been doing any link building these days) and my free travel directory moved from PR2 to PR3.

Soliloquy, I don't think changing URLs would cause the site to loose PR rating.
