I need help, is there a SEO master here?

The story of my site begins a year and a half ago, we used phpnuke-phpbb (which sucks btw, but it's free). We were the first site of its kind in spanish, so we grew really quick, we are now like 15000+ users registered. But for some reason the pagerank sucks biiig time.

I found on UrlTrends :: Website Optimization Reports, Search Engine Ranking Trends and Online Competitive Research that I was once PR 3 but it suddenly drop to 0, and went up to 1 on may.

i've followed a lot of seo advices, like the welcome headers mod, vbseo, got listed on dmoz, and so on, but the PR is still 1. Can someone please check my site and tell me what I'm doing wrong? I would really appreciate this.

shows only 76 back links. 1 is a wiki page, good job there

damn yahoo, it's showing our old phpbb links :'( I've submited my sitemap like a thousand times, and still no change

it takes time. Don't know when you switched but I once did in the past and it took months, basically you loose ll since the old url's don't link to the new ones. You have to start from scratch. See to it that your content is ok (should be I guess) and start to make links back to the posts and main pages. Already add your site to many directories like mine and others you will find out of there. This helps the robots to point their nose in the good direction. Some patience and you'll see it will come.

thanks for your advise, I'm working on it, but since my site it's in spanish, and more specifi in mexico, it's really hard to find link directories that could help me grow in my "niche"

seems you found a niche, why not start your own directory ? Since you didn't find it, guess many other neither ?? Phplinkdirecotry is a very nice script with many skins and adons.

Okay, lets start here.

Can someone please explain what a back link is exactly?

A little over a month ago I created a VBulletin Forum called OzChess - Australia's Chess Forum. Since that time, in order to better improve my pagerank I have done the following:

• Installed Google/Yahoo SEO and get regular pings in my email
• Tried, perhaps successfuly perhaps not, to add my H1 and H2 tags
• Filled out the Meta Keyword and Meta Description in the CP Panel
• Removed the Powered by VBulletin Tag

Yet, my Page Rank still seems to be 0. Short of purchasing this VBSEO, is there something further I can do?
