| Re: Powered by vBulletin in title tag [how to remove] Not only can you remove it, you can also change it to include some more key words. On my forum, our best key word is not in our domain name, so I put it in the - Powered by.. section of the title.

btw, we have this "thanks" button.. so if you ever have a post that you just want to say "thanks" for.. We'd rather you used the button, and save the post for something of quality
Not trying to pick on ya, we just try to maintain this so the post are better and we don't have 300 post that are " great stuff, thanks for sharing" |

| Re: Powered by vBulletin in title tag [how to remove] Nice tip.
Followup question: It works when I'm in my clutchfitness.com/forums part of the site. But I am using vbAdvanced, and when I go to the home page, it just has my site name - no powered by vbulletin or anything, and it didn't pick up the short description I just edited.
Do you know how I might change that? |

I'm having a hard time editing this. When I do a search for it and it comes up, I press the "edit" button and then it takes me to a page that only has one field to write in and it says something about "translation" I tried putting the {1} in there but it just created another "translated" version of the x_powered_by_vbulletin
so then I had 2 of them. I went back and deleted the new one that I'd made but I'd still like to be able to do this customization.
edit:
here is a screenshot

ok, I did that.
here is a screen shot of it now when I do a search for that term. Is this normal? It seems like it didn't "edit" it but instead, created a new one. |

| Re: Powered by vBulletin in title tag [how to remove] Be careful when editing. According to Brand Free Licence - Prohibits saying Site is 'Powered By' Something? - vBulletin Community Forum, you can't put "Powered by [Something Else]" since that indicates the software is not powered by vBulletin.
So it's okay to remove the "Powered by vBulletin" part but it's not okay to put "Powered by [Something Else]". |

I'm not making fun of it, it's just that most vBulletin owners make fun of it. They think it's a vBulletin wannabe. I think it's a great free software, but vBulletin's just better overall in my opinion.
And really I understand why you would shouldn't put "Powered by [Something Else]" in the title of your forum. Jelsoft spent years and years perfecting vBulletin. And you decided to say that it is powered by something else? |
